I’m very pleased to confirm that early in 2013 I will be launching a brand new record label with my long time friend and associate Steve Parry of SMP3 and formerly 3 Beat Records. The label will go by the name of Selador Recordings and will embrace all forms of quality underground dance music from Deep House to Techno.
Once I laid Audio Therapy to rest last year after more than a decade of service, there has been a label sized hole in my life that just kept aching to be filled. I’ve worked on labels for over 20 years so it felt strange not having that platform from which to express my love of the music and also help other artists showcase their talent on the world stage.
So when Steve dropped into conversation one day that it had been a lifelong ambition of his to own his own label, it didn’t take long for me to suggest that we partnered up for the mutually beneficial cause.
We’ve already got some very exciting music lined up which we’ll start to unveil just before Christmas. And believe me, there are some corkers ready to be unleashed. Veritable top tunes from a whole host of new talent, a wealth of familiar names and the odd legend thrown in for good measure.
The business of releasing music has changed beyond all recognition since I first started A&Ring at Stress Records in the early 90s, but the passion still remains. It’s a labour of love. And I’m very happy to be back in the game. Roll on 2013. Selador is go!
