My new mix compilation will be released through Armada on November 27th. It’s the second in the label’s City series following King Unique’s album from London earlier this year and is my first CD since the groundbreaking Selador Sessions Volume 1 which was funded through Kickstarter two years ago. I decided to make Berlin my city of choice and so have featured several tracks from producers, artists and labels who are based in the city. I also chose quite a few tracks that were highlights from my set at Suicide Circus back in August. Here’s the full tracklist…

  1. Jaap Ligthart feat. Alice Rose ‘I Know Change’ (Nicolas Massayeff) [Selador]

2. Three Machines ‘Megalith’ [Sincopat]

3. Damian Lazarus & The Ancient Moons ‘Vermillion’ (&ME) [Crosstown Rebels]

4. Habsichman ‘Dub Rumors’ [Selador]

5. Terranova feat. Stereo MCs ’Tell Me Why’ (Re: You) [Kompakt]

6. Marc Romboy ‘Hypernova’ (Stephan Bodzin) [Systematic]

7. Third Son ‘Colourblind’ (Justin Massei) [Selador]

8. Guy Mantzur & Roy Rosenfeld ‘Epika’ [Kompakt]

9. Marc Marzenit ‘Death Espiral’ (Dave Seaman) [Natura Sonoris]

10. Dahu ‘Sedated’ [Steyoyoke]

11. Nicolas Massayeff ‘Flagrance’ [Systematic]

12. Quivver ‘Wait For You’ (D Nox & Beckers) [Selador]

13. Habischman & Thomas Gandey ‘Let Me’ (Dave Seaman) [Lapsus]

14. Andre Hommen ‘Centrifuge’ [Poker Flat]

15. Framewerk ‘Feel You Hold You’ [Selador]

My latest interview with DMC World magazine

Dave a huge welcome back to DMCWORLD…where on planet earth are you right now? I’m at home in the rather grey and drizzly rural Easy Midlands of England. Winter is starting to strengthen it’s grip :-(  How’s Ibiza Dan? Jealous, much!

The first piece of music you heard this morning after leaping out of bed? The new Mercury Rev album ‘The Light In You’. Beautiful stuff to ease you into the day.

Your most excellent year continues at pace, this time we are all over a release that Armada Music are really excited about too, your ‘Beyond Borders : Berlin’…a real underground journey from one of the most important dance music cities in the world. How and when did this project spring into life? King Unique did the first edition of this new compilation series earlier this year and as the outlets to do physical CD compilations have been shrinking, I was straight on the phone to Armada offering my services to do the next one 😉 Mix CDs have been a big part of my career over the last 25 years and it’s a tradition I’m keen to continue. Berlin sprang to mind as the obvious choice from which to base the album after I did a couple of gigs there over the summer and I wanted the album to give a flavour of a particular place rather than some generic set that could have come from anywhere. Nearly all of the music was either stuff i played at those gigs or is by producers and artists that are based in the city, so there’s a real connection there.  (more…)

Kickstarter Mix Compilation Gets Funding

dave_kickstarter_cover_image We’ve done it! We are very proud to announce that the first ever crowd sourced DJ mix compilation is now fully funded and will be put into production and ready for release by the end of June.

‘I’m over the moon”, said Dave “I have to say a big Thank You to everyone who pledged and helped make this dream a reality. It really was a jump into the unknown. We didn’t know how people would react to this project. It was outside the norm and a completely new way of making an album like this, but we couldn’t be happier with the response. To be fully funded with 9 days still to go is simply amazing.”

Remember though that this album is limited edition and will not be available in the shops. You will not be able to get it at Amazon, iTunes, Beatport or any of the traditional outlets. The only way to guarantee getting the mix is to pledge now and pre order your copy. Also, once the project runs out of time on all the unique offers of VIP nights out, DJ lessons and private parties come to an end. So don’t delay, make your pledge today and become part of this truly groundbreaking project.

Thank you for your support.

Kickstarter Compilation launched

I’m very pleased to announce that for my next mix compilation I’ve decided to try to do something a little bit different. Instead of following the usual well trodden path I’ve been down many times before I’d like to ask for your help to try to make the first ever crowd funded DJ Mix compilation through

Kickstarter, for those of you don’t know, is a website where artists, designers, inventors, film directors, etc, etc launch campaigns to get funding for all sorts of projects. There have been many success stories ranging from the Pebble ePaper watch which raised over $10 million to the short film, Innocente which went on to win an Oscar.

Click here to watch the video and get more details on how we could make this game changing album together. Thank you for your support as always.
We believe that one day all albums could be made this way :-)
