Reloads 2 EP Out Now on Selador Recordings

Reloads 2 PackshotAs 2014 draws to a close and we look back on what has been a fantastic year for us here at Selador, we’d like to take this opportunity to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who has played their part in such a successful 12 months that went far and beyond what we could ever have hoped to achieve.

To wrap things up we’d like to finish the year on our second Reloads EP, the occasional series where we invite some of our roster of producers to get to grips with a few highlights from our back catalogue and boy did they step up to the plate.

Leading by example is Kucna Muzika with their remix of Piemont’s ‘So What’ which was part of our fifth release way back during the summer of 2013. It’s a chunky motha of a mix that has already had plenty of supporters amongst the lucky few to have it upfront. Main room Tech House at it’s finest.

Next up is Snilloc with his interpretation of our very first release, Samu.l’s ‘Restless Dreams’. Keeping things deep but embellishing on the original’s hypnotic appeal, the up and coming Hungarian producer gives this modern classic a new lease of life, not a moment too soon.

Time for another visit to the ‘Naughty Forest’ next as Beaumont Stanford & Matt Davis take on our very own Dave Seaman’s collaboration with Mr Funkagenda. And this little beauty has balls! Centered around a monster bass, the vocal and melodies then weave some black magic between them that would leave Dynamo dumfounded!

And finally, we’ve got not one, but two new versions of Dee Montero’s ‘Fade Into Noir’, one of the standout tracks from our first Showcase compilation earlier this year. Dimitri Nakov is the one on remix duty here, delivering both a groove driven punchy dub and a more subtle, stripped back variation showcasing a little more of Aya’s dreamy vocal. Take your pick, the choice is yours.

Until next time then, we’d like to wish your all a very Merry Xmas and Happy New Year. Thank you for your continued support and we promise that next year is set to be even bigger and better.

Selador Seasonal Greetings to one and all… with bells on.

Dave Seaman & Funkagenda ‘Naughty Forest’ Out now on Selador Recordings

naughty forest_2If you go down to the woods today you’re in for a big surprise. Selador Recordings tenth instalment comes from the label’s co- owner Dave Seaman alongside sometime collaborator Funkagenda, intriguingly titled Naughty Forest and featuring remixes from two heavyweights of electronic dance music, Dapayk and Nicolas Masseyeff.

It’s another big release for Selador which further cements it’s growing reputation as one of the hottest new labels on the block and after sneaking a preview of their upcoming release schedule, it’s only a sign of things to come.

The Original mix has been a weapon in Seaman’s sets for several months now. A brooding melodic techno workout that captures his progressive roots but places them in a thoroughly contemporary setting. Driven by infectious percussive loops and topped off with ethereal vocal hits, it really hits it’s stride in the second half when the growling Moog bass takes hold. It’s a big one and no mistake. Tried and tested.

Niklas Wogt, aka Dapayk is first up on remix duty and he heads into deeper, darker territory to devastating effect. Centered around a relentless chugger of a groove, it tinkers with the original’s lead Reaktor riff teasing it in and out of the mix with aplomb. Smart, stylish and a little wonky, this is one for the heads.

And to complete this amazing package, Nicolas Masseyeff weighs in with another mix of sophisticated beauty. Unerringly restrained, almost regal and yet with menacingly eerie undertones, the breakdown creeps up on you slowly unfolding into the grooviest of bass lines. Sheer class.

And there you have it. Selador number ten. Incoming. Don’t say we didn’t warn you. Enjoy!
